The leadership of America is void of morality according to former U.S. Senator John Edwards.

The 2004 vice presidential candidate addressed some of his concerns about the current administration during a press conference at Mount Union College last night.

Edwards cited recent Medicare cuts and a lack of concern for the poor as immoral actions of the Bush administration.

He also addressed the current controversy surrounding the president’s decision to wiretap Americans. Edwards called Bush’s actions illegal, stating that the president is not above the law.

Edwards’ visit to Mount Union was part of “The Call to Public Service: The Future of Our Nation and State” speaker series.
