Gingrich calls Delay’s resignation good for the Republican Party

Tom Delay’s resignation is good for the Republic Party according to Newt Gingrich. The former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives addressed Delay’s decision to resign as house majority leader during a press conference at MountUnionCollege yesterday.
Gingrich said that although Delay’s resignation is sad for the Delay family, it is a decision that will allow the Republicans to move forward with new ideas.
Gingrich’s remarks came only three days after Congressman Delay announced his intent to resign on Monday, April 3.
The former speaker of the house visited MountUnion as part of the college’s “The Call to Public Service: The Future of Our Nation and State” speaker series
