Public service is the answer to our country's problems, according to the
former advisor to Presidents Reagan, Bush Senior and Clinton.

Last night, David Gergen explained the evolution of generations in America, stating the
first and second World War periods were held together by hardship, economic
sacrifice, and public service.

However, Gergen believes we're currentlyexperiencing a new era that began in 1992 with President Clinton and continues today with President Bush.

He claims the Vietnam War shaped this generation, splitting the country in two. Gergen says this means we have some tough governing over the next few years.Yet, the responsibility to change depends on the youth of our nation.

Gergen feels strongly that our country can reunite through future generations serving others.
