Why did you choose to pursue mass media at Mount Union? When I came to Mount, I planned to pursue a career in advertising and major in Business Administration. After talking with the faculty in the business department and comparing to the information they gave me with information members of the communication department and also career development, I felt that I would gain the most knowledge of advertising, print journalism, and public relations as a Media Studies major.

What types of jobs are available for students who share your major? There are many different opportunities including advertising sales, public relations, journalism, design for many different types of businesses including advertising agencies, private advertising accounts, newspaper journalism, television and radio ad sales, magazine design, among many others

How will you use your degree upon graduation? Hopefully working in an advertising agency.

What activities are you involved in? The Dynamo editor, 91.1 WRMU on-air personality, Study Abroad- University of Viterbo, Italy Summer 2006, Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, Dowling Mentor Program, Association of Women in Communication

Elements a person should possess to succeed in your major? Personable, hard-working, competitive, creative, determined, enthusiastic

What advice can you offer for someone who is considering having the same major as you? Meet with career support upon entering Mount Union and brainstorm where you want to take your education. Figure out where the popular job markets are for your career and begin figuring out when you are going to take your required courses and when you will be STUDYING ABROAD!!! Studying abroad is an awesome opportunity Mount Union students have and everyone should take advantage of it.
