Major: Early Childhood Education

Why did you choose to pursue your degree? I love working with children and have always wanted to be a teacher.

What types of jobs are available for students who share your major? Early childhood education offers teaching jobs from pre-kindergarten through grade three.

How will you use your degree upon graduation? I plan on being a teacher in either a kindergarten classroom or first grade classroom. I will be able to use my knowledge to help children grow and learn.

In what activities are you involved? APO, Preview and Orientation and SNEA.

Elements a person should possess to succeed in your major? I believe a good teacher should have a good personality as well as be creative, determined, patient and caring. Most importantly, they should have the ability to make learning fun!

What advice can you offer for someone who is considering having the same major as you? Have patience; it's a lot of work but it pays off in the end. Take advantage of observing in the classrooms, and know that you can do anything that you set your mind to.
