General Education Information

This section contains information about the General Education requirements at Mount Union College and includes the listing of courses meeting General Education Requirements for the present academic year. If there are any modifications or corrections during the year they will appear at the end of this section and titled, UPDATES.

An overview of the Mount Union College General Education curriculum may be found in the Catalogue in the section on Academic Policies and Procedures and immediately following is a section which presents a full listing of ‘Courses for General Education’ for each degree offered by the College.

For students and faculty there is an additional source of information on General Education. The specific requirements for a student—admitted from the 2000-2001 academic year to present—are available in the Academic Plan which is available on IQ.Web. The Academic Plan for degree requirements (i.e., General Education Requirements) is active for almost all students. Thus one can not only find out what requirements must be completed, the Plan will show which requirements have been met.

1. Students should go to ‘Academic Plan’ in IQ.Web and click on “View Degree Requirements,” select the term and year they were admitted, then select the degree which they are planning to complete.

2. Faculty should go to ‘Student Advising,’ identify the student, select ‘Academic Plan,’ select the term and year the student was admitted, then select the degree the student plans to earn.

General Education information for students who were admitted prior to the 2000 Fall semester may be obtained from the Registration Office.
