Why did you choose to pursue your degree? I chose this degree because I love doing art, it's fun and I'm good at it! I also always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was little, so why not teach something I love and go to school to become an art teacher.
What types of jobs are available for students who share your major? They can be an artist, a photographer, graphic designer, work in a museum, open an art gallery, etc.
How will you use your degree upon graduation? After graduation, I will have a degree in art along with a teaching license so I can become a high school art teacher.
What activities are you involved in? I am in the art fraternity, Kappa Pi
Elements a person should possess to succeed in your major? I think it is very important that you have a creative mind. You also must be patient because you are NOT going to get everyting perfect the first time around. Instead, it takes many trials and errors along with a lot of time and hard work. It is worth it in the end though
What advice can you offer for someone who is considering having the same major as you? I would have to say, go for it! The art program has a lot to offer to Mount Union with a lot of great people in it. We host art gallery receptions every year to show off the talented student work, which is really exciting to be a part of. We do tons of fun projects inside the classroom every day, so if you are good at art or interested... go for it!
