Raider Men Compete at Kent State Tune-Up

Several members of Mount Union's men's track and field team competed at the non-scored Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday, February 18. Top finishes for the Raiders included three NCAA provisional qualifying times. Junior Nic Saluppo ran his way to a 2nd place finish in the 55m dash with a time of 6.44, while junior Jeremy Velliquette placed 3rd in the mile run with a time of 4:12.08 and junior Ryan Garro finished 3rd in the 800m run with a time of 1:52.48. Junior Justin Rodhe has already qualified for nationals in the shot put last weekend at the All-Ohio meet with a throw of 16.26m. Other highlights included a 2nd place finish in the 600m run by Beau Livengood (1:22.52), a 3rd place finish by James Cunningham in the 300m dash (36.02), a 3rd place finish by Justin Rodhe in the shot put (52-09.25) and a 4th place finish by Kyle Basista in the 1,000m run (2:31.90). Next weekend the Raiders will host the Mount Union Invitational on February 25. |
