The Titans jumped out to an early 12-4 lead when Kaitlin McCarthy made a three-pointer at the 15:53 mark. Westminster then extended the lead to 27-13 with 6:23 remaining before the break when Emilee Ackerman sank two free throws.

However, the Raiders outscored the Titans 18-10 the rest of the opening half and would go into intermission down 37-31.

Mount opened the second half on an 8-0 run capped by a three-pointer from freshman/wing Nicole Plant at the 17:14 mark, giving the Raiders a 39-37 advantage. The bucket gave the Raiders their first lead since 2-0 of the first half.

The lead changed hands three times until Westminster found themselves holding a 59-56 lead with 50 seconds remaining in the game.

Raider sophomore/wing Tessa Pohovey then made a ly-up with 31 seconds left to bring the Purple and White to within one, at 59-58. After two Westminster free throws by McCarthy made the score 61-58, a last second shot from behind the arc for Mount was off the mark as the Titans preserved a victory.

Individually, Mount Union was paced by Pohovey and senior/forward Ashley Ross who each totaled 15 points. Ross also grabbed nine rebounds. Westminster was led by Ackerman's 20 points and eight caroms.

The Raiders shot .400 from the field compared to .377 for the Titans. Mount Union held a 38-33 rebounding advantage but committed 14 turnovers to only nine for Westminster.

The Purple and White next travel to University Heights, Ohio to play John Carrol on Saturday, January 5. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
