Purple Raiders Fall To Polar Bears

Mount Union College's wrestling team (4-4, 1-2 OAC) lost 25-16 to visiting Ohio Northern on Tuesday, January 10 in Alliance, Ohio at the Peterson Fieldhouse.
Ohio Northern won the first two weight classes to open up a 9-0 lead. At 141 lbs. Jimmy Laughlin improved to 3-0 in OAC matches with a 9-4 win over Jon Kunisch. Sean Connelly added another win to his team best 22 with a 15-2 win over Northern's Lance Hassell at 149. George Comer gave the Raiders a 10-9 lead after he defeated Anthony Coleman 8-4 in the 157 lbs. weight class.
Ohio Northern would win at both 165 and 174 to open up a 15-10 lead.
The Raiders would respond when Don McCraith pinned Ohio Nothern's Dusty Poore in under a minute to regain the lead at 16-15.
The Polar Bears would close out the match with wins at 197 and 285 for the victory.
