Senior/midfielder Axel Sandoval (Hondouras) scored his first of two goals on the day just ten minutes into the contest on a rebound from Trevor Beach. Beach would score just three minutes later on a rip from 20 yards out off a Chris Bondra assist.

The Raiders led 2-0 at the half.

The Lions would cut the Raider lead to one when Joe Romanelli scored on a penalty kick. Sandoval would strike again as he scored from the far post on a Steve Gillespie assist to push the Mount Union lead to 3-1 with nine minutes left in the game.

The Lions out shot the Raiders 19-18 and also led in corner kicks 10-2.

Matt Mazzolini made his first start of the year in goal for the Raiders and grabbed 11 saves while Dustin Walker had six for Penn-State Behrend.

Senior/defender Bryan Eaton and Beach were each named to the Blue Devil Days Inn Classic All-Tournament Team.

The Raiders will next travel to Allegheny, PA for a non-conference match-up with Allegheny on Wednesday, September 13 at 7 p.m.

Mount Union College's men's soccer team (0-2-1) lost 1-0 to host Fredonia State (2-2) at the Blue Devil Days Inn Classic on Friday, September 8 in Fredonia, New York.

The Blue Devils scored the lone goal of the contest at the 32:47 mark when Trevor Ianni sent his own rebound into the net.

Fredonia State would make the goal the stand as each team played solid defense in the second half for a 1-0 final score.

The Blue Devils out shot the Raiders 30-12 while also holding an adavantage in corner kicks at four to two.

Senior/goalkeeper Eric Sebor (Solon) grabbed a season-high 12 saves in goal while Scott Bergen had three for Fredonia State.

Mount Union will wrap up the Blue Devil Days Inn Classic with a 1pm match versus Penn State Behrend.
