Mount Union To Compete At OAC Cross Country Championships

Mount Union College’s men and women’s cross country teams will compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, October 29 in Westerville, Ohio on the campus of Otterbein College. The 6,000 meter women’s race begins at 11 a.m. while the men’s 8,000 meter event will begin at noon.

Mount Union’s women’s team, the two-time defending OAC Champions returns senior Jamie Musick (Warren/JFK), who placed fourth at the conference championships a year ago to earn All-OAC honors.

Musick finished first at the Penn State Behrend Invitational in Erie, Pennsylvania earlier this season with a course record time of 19:00 to highlight her season.

The men’s team returns two All-OAC performers from the 2004 season including senior Chris Paulett (Akron/Revere) and junior Jeremy Velliquette (Freemont/St. Joseph) placed fifth and sixth which resulted in a second place finish for the Purple Raiders behind Otterbein.

Velliquette has placed in the top-five in five of the seven meets this season including a runner-up finish at the Ohio Northern Invitational (25:50) on October 15.

Mount Union’s men’s team last won the conference title in 2002 when Otterbein College hosted the championship event.
