Mount Union Falls To #20 Ohio Northern

The Raiders (22-10), the #4 seed in the Ohio Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament, saw their season come to an end with a 3-0 loss (18-30, 27-30, 22-30) to #1 seed Ohio Northern (26-8), ranked #20 in Division III by the American Volleyball Coaches Assocation of America (AVCA), in the tournament semi-finals on Friday evening in Ada, Ohio.
Despite the loss, Mount Union posted its 10th season all-time of 20+ wins under first year Head Coach Leigh Ann Matesich.
The Purple Raiders were led by outside hitter Amanda Kohler with 13 kills and teammate middle hitter Jessica Ehmer added nine. Kohler also paced the team in digs with 25 and outside hitter Kalie Rock contributed 16. Setter Tracy Reschke totaled 35 assists.
In other semi-final match-ups, #7 Muskingum def. #3 Capital, (23-30, 30-26, 30-22, 30-21). Ohio Northern and Muskingum will compete in the finals of the OAC Tournament on Saturday, November 4 in Ada, Ohio. The game is set for a 2:00 p.m. start time.
