Lady Raiders Fall To Visiting John Carroll

Mount Union's women's basketball team dropped a 67-58 decision to visiting John Carroll on Wednesday, February 4.
John Carroll (10-10, 6-7 OAC) led throughout the contest, building a 13 point lead, at 30-17, with 5:06 left in the first half. The Blue Streaks settled for a 37-27 lead at intermission.
In the second half, the Purple Raiders (4-16, 1-12 OAC) cut to one, at 46-45, with 8:48 remaining when guard Abbey Moore connected on a pair of free throws. That completed a 19-8 run for the Purple & White. However, the Blue Streaks kicked the lead back to as many as 10 late in the game before evening their record on the year.
The Raiders were led by forward Lisa Dubinsky's 13 point and 11 rebounds. Guard Lauren Friedrich had 12 points in the contest. The Streaks were paced by guard Shayla Bell's 18 points and post Megan Heller's 10 points and 12 boards.
John Carroll shot .482 from the field compared to Mount Union's .426. The Streaks had a 37-27 rebounding edge. The Raiders committed 15 turnovers to John Carroll's 18.
Mount Union next travels to Tiffin, Ohio, for a Saturday, Feb. 7 contest against Heidelberg. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
