MUC Study Abroad Programs
Through Mount Union, you have the opportunity to go abroad to earn academic credit. You can do your student teaching abroad, or you can study abroad.
Education majors who wish to do their student teaching abroad, can choose from over 40 countries. Visit the Global Student Teaching (GST) website to learn more information. Students should make sure they talk to both Michael Guyer (guyermi@muc.edu) in the study abroad office and Dr. Tom Gannon (gannontw@muc.edu) in the education department about how to make this option a reality.
Students who wish to study abroad can do so in one of twenty eight different countries. Depending on the country of interest to you, you can choose to go for part of the summer, the entire summer, a semester, or year. Your study abroad experience might be part of a Mount Union direct exchange program or the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC). Australia
Through USAC, Mount Union sends students to one of two different universities in Australia.
Canada
Through a direct exchange agreement, Mount Union sends high-level students of French who are interested in an intensive language immersion experience to Quebec.
Chile
Through USAC, Mount Union sends students to a university in Santiago, Chile.
China
Through a USAC program at Southwest University of Nationalities, students have the option to study abroad in China.
- Southwest University for Nationalities, Chengdu, summer and/or semester/year programs available.
Costa Rica
Through USAC, Mount Union sends students to one of two different universities in Costa Rica.
Czech Republic
Through USAC, Mount Union sends students to a university in Prague.
Denmark
Through USAC, Mount Union sends students of business and economics to Copenhagen, Denmark.
England
There are five different options for students wishing to study abroad in England. Mount Union offers a direct exchange program with the University of Essex for students with at least a 3.0 GPA who are history, political science, and international studies majors. Through USAC, Mount Union students can also study abroad at universities in Brighton, Bristol, Reading, and London.
France
Through USAC, Mount Union sends students to Pau, France.
Germany
Through a Mount Union direct exchange program with the University of Bamberg and a USAC program in Luneburg, students have two options if they wish to study in Germany.
Ghana
Through USAC, students can study abroad in Accra, Ghana.
India
Through USAC, students can study abroad in Bangalore, India.
Ireland
Through USAC, Mount Union students can study abroad in two different sites in Ireland.

- National University of Ireland, Galway, summer programs available
Italy
Through USAC, Mount Union students can study abroad in Turin, Italy.
Japan
Through a Mount Union direct exchange program with the Kansai Gaidai University and USAC programs in Hiroshima or Osaka, students have three options if they wish to study in Japan.
Korea
Through USAC, students can study abroad in Seoul, Korea.
Malta
Through USAC, students can study abroad in Msida, Malta.
Mexico
Through a Mount Union direct exchange agreement with the University of the Americas in Mexico City and a USAC program in Puebla, students have two options if they wish to study in Mexico.
The Netherlands
Through USAC, students can study abroad in The Netherlands.
New Zealand
Through USAC, Mount Union sends students to Palmerston North, New Zealand.

Norway
Through USAC, Mount Union sends students to Oslo, Norway.
Russia
Through a Mount Union direct exchange agreement, students can study abroad in Kursk, Russia.
- Kursk State Pedagogical University, semester/year programs available.
Scotland
Through USAC, students have two study abroad options in Scotland.
Spain
Through USAC, students can study abroad in one of four different sites in Spain.
Sweden
Through USAC, students can study abroad in Vaxjo, Sweden.
Thailand
Through USAC, students can study abroad in Bankok, Thailand.
