The Nature Center offers workshops to train youth group facilitators, teachers and pre-service teachers to use various environmental education resources.

The Nature Center staff members are certified to teach the following nationally recognized EE curriculums: Project WILD, Project Learning Tree, Project WET, Healthy Water - Healthy People, and Food Land and People.

Through a new partnership with the Council for Environmental Education (the national office for Flying WILD and Project WILD) The J.T. Huston – Dr. J.D. Brumbaugh Nature Center is now offering Flying WILD training and materials in the Northeast Ohio area. Flying WILD is an exciting new environmental education program that introduces middle school students to bird conservation through school bird festivals, hands-on classroom activities, and community service projects.

Our facility is also used for teacher trainings in other recognized EE programs such as the GLOBE Project and the Leopold Education Project.

The Nature Center provides trainings on other topics for schools/teachers with a particular focus. To schedule a training or to check when the next workshop will be held contact the Nature Center at 330.823.7487.

The scheduled workshops are listed in our newsletter and on the Mount Union College web page. As a organizational member of the Environmental Education Council of Ohio our workshops will also be posted on the new event calendar found at www.eeco-online.org
