Dewald Lecturer: Lesra Martin, a Crown Attorney in British Columbia who helped free Rubin .
Location and Time: CANCELLED - Lesra Martin could not get a flight here since all flights were grounded due to the terrorist attack.

The Mount Union Theatre will be showing " The Hurricane" on August 31 and September 1 at 8:15 PM, which is the movie that tells the story of Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. Also, Channel 33 of CCTV is showing the movie "The Hurricane" through Wednesday, September 12. The movie shows at 5a.m., 8a.m., 11a.m., 2p.m., 5p.m., 8p.m., 11p.m., and 2a.m. daily.

Speakers: A panel of faculty from the Mount Union College departments of Religion, Political Science, Communication, Foreign Languages, and Psychology. The members of the panel will will offer their perspectives on the events surrounding the terrorist attacks of September 11, followed by discussion.

Speaker: Diane Coleman, Executive Director of Progress Center for Independent Living, and founder and director of Not Dead Yet.

Speaker: Joseph Weinberg, a pioneering rape prevention speaker, trainer and author/educator.

Joseph Weinberg will also speak this same evening, in the Mount Union Theatre, at 7:00 PM (not 7:30).

Speaker: Selene Phillips, a Ph.D. candidate at Purdue University in American Studies, where she combines Native American Studies and journalism. Selene Phillips is Ojibwe from a reservation in northern Wisconsin. She has done research on the negative aspects of the Native American Barbie doll.
